The Story
A strong, well-liked competitor, Monica won Head of Household in Week 9 and positioned herself deep into the game.
During the season, production took the unprecedented step of pulling her into the diary room to tell her that her cousin, Tamitha Freeman — an Aon Corporation employee on the 90th floor of the World Trade Center's South Tower — was missing after the September 11th attacks. It remains the only time production has interrupted the game to deliver outside news of this kind.
At the final three, Nicole Schaffrich chose to evict Monica, viewing her as too strong a jury threat to sit beside. Monica placed 3rd.
Signature Moment
Sequestered from all news, Monica received word inside the house that her cousin was among the missing on 9/11 — a moment that stopped the game itself.
