SEASON 28 TIMELINE

The BB28 'Time Trip' cast moved into a house themed around different eras. It all aired two days later on the 90-minute premiere.

Chuk Anyanwu won the Survivor-style jungle-river safety comp, the one that recruited Survivor's Rick Devens into the house.

Chuk Anyanwu

Rome Seymour won the mall-themed Long Beach '88 safety comp, which recruited BB26 alum Angela Murray.

Rome Seymour

Jason De Puy (drag persona Salina EsTitties) won the Vegas-club safety comp, a round of cocktail-name questions, which recruited BB13 winner Rachel Reilly.

Jason De Puy

BB26 alum Angela Murray, 52, joined as a surprise houseguest via the Long Beach comp.

Angela Murray

Survivor's Rick Devens, 42, entered as a surprise crossover recruit via the jungle-river comp.

Rick Devens

Before she could play a single comp, Rachel Reilly was chased into a volcano by a velociraptor, and Julie confirmed her 'untimely demise.' The premiere ended on it.

Rachel Reilly

Groups of four stood on a boulder holding up a platform with ropes while their icon built a fire-themed puzzle, and Dee Valladares' team finished first. The Jul 10 'Unlocked' aired the start of the comp; Dee's win aired on Episode 3.

Dee Valladares

Rick Devens' group finished with the fewest pieces on their platform and became the season's first Have-Nots: Devens, Drew Campbell, Chuk Anyanwu, Haley Thogmartin and Taylor Brown.

Rome Seymour and Lyric Medeiros were 'kissing on the freakin' 2nd day': the season's first showmance, before the live feeds existed. CBS titled its own clip 'Day 2 Showmance? Lyric & Rome Get Cozy'.

Rome Seymour · Lyric Medeiros

To replace Rachel, Julie Chen Moonves sent herself through the Dining Table Time Machine to December 20, 2023, the night Dee Valladares won Survivor 45. The debut of 'Big Brother: Unlocked' unveiled Dee as the season's third returning alum.

Dee Valladares

Before Dee's first nominations, two alliances took shape around the HOH. The Red Corner: Dee Valladares, Rick Devens, Kamuela Kirk, Haley Thogmartin and Chuk Anyanwu. The Crossovers, where Dee said her loyalty lay: Dee, Devens, Angela Murray, Drew Campbell and Barrett Pfeiffer.

HOH Dee Valladares nominated Mallory Aurichio, Taylor Brown and Yash Patel, one from each team. Her main target was Yash.

The BB28 live feeds went live at 9pm ET on Friday, hours after the noms. Everything before this point is known only from the broadcast.

Barrett Pfeiffer and Melody Morris were drawn to play. Dr. Will Kirby appeared by video and BB6's Howie Gordon turned up in person; players fitted time tubes together to flip a switch, and rocket scientist Mallory Aurichio won it.

Mallory Aurichio · Dee Valladares · Yash Patel · Taylor Brown · Barrett Pfeiffer · Melody Morris

Returnees Angela Murray and Dee Valladares agreed on the feeds that they were already 'so tired' of Chuk and Haley, whom Dee figured were 'toast.'

Angela Murray · Dee Valladares

Melody Morris and Lyric Medeiros, two of Mallory Aurichio's closest players, started putting distance between them once Mallory hit the block.

Melody Morris · Mallory Aurichio · Lyric Medeiros

Mallory Aurichio vetoed herself, and HOH Dee Valladares named Ashley Trail as the replacement. Final block: Yash Patel, Taylor Brown and Ashley.

Jason De Puy had pulled Drew Campbell and Melody Morris into The Court Jesters to pick off the returning vets. Drew, a Crossover all along, carried Jason's talk straight to Dee, Devens and Angela.

The house celebrated LaTrice 'LaLa' Verrett's birthday.

LaTrice Verrett

The season's unlikeliest pair went public on the feeds, with Dee Valladares on camera: "he's a nerd, but he's my nerd."

Dee Valladares · Barrett Pfeiffer

The three nominees had to name which houseguest appeared most often in a reel of hairstyle-themed images. Yash Patel got it right and took himself off the block, his first comp win.

Yash Patel · Taylor Brown · Ashley Trail

Ashley told Melody Morris that "a whole group" was saving her, and the pitch travelled to Barrett, Drew and Dee. Not one vote went against Taylor Brown.

Each week for six weeks, America votes one houseguest into the BB Time Capsule to play for a power from a past season, or take a punishment if they lose. Nobody can go in twice, and Julie confirmed Ashley has no way back.

After the live show, a 1992 Nashville comp ran three rounds of disc-sliding, and Rick Devens edged Haley Thogmartin 35–27 for his first Head of Household.

Rick Devens · Haley Thogmartin

Devens merged the Crossovers and the Red Corner into one eight-person bloc: Barrett, Chuk, Drew, Haley, Kamu, Devens, Dee and Angela. Drew Campbell named it "The Toolshed."

Rick Devens · Drew Campbell · Dee Valladares · Barrett Pfeiffer · Chuk Anyanwu · Haley Thogmartin · Kamuela Kirk · Angela Murray

America sent Angela Murray in first. She lost the challenge and took the punishment: Vince's BB27 "hard-boiled detective" egg suit for a week.

Angela Murray

The block was cover for the Toolshed's real plan: backdoor Rome Seymour if the veto was used. Jason, shut out of the new alliance, fought with Angela and insisted the HOH was really hers.

At the nomination ceremony a spiraling Rome Seymour told Haley Thogmartin she was snarky and "unbearable," and a couple of the men stood up to defend her. Rome later broke down crying with LaTrice Verrett.

In a 1967 "Flower Power" comp, players raced to build a 12-piece festival poster. Rick Devens won, with Angela Murray and Barrett Pfeiffer drawn to play.

Rome Seymour and Lyric Medeiros staged a public "breakup" to lower Lyric's threat level so she could work votes freely.

Devens pulled Lyric Medeiros off the block after she promised never to nominate him, and named Rome Seymour as the replacement. Final nominees: Rome, Jason and Melody.

The nominees sorted twelve treasure pieces (emeralds, pearls, rubies and doubloons) onto four poles in matching stacks. Jason De Puy finished first, beating Rome Seymour and Melody Morris.

Rome became the first casualty of Devens' Toolshed. Taylor Brown cast the only vote to keep him.

Rome Seymour · Melody Morris · Taylor Brown · Rick Devens

Before the results Rome said "Lyric Medeiros, I am in love with you" and dipped her for a kiss. On the couch Julie revealed his lone vote came from Taylor, not Lyric.

Players watched a 1985 wrestling match and answered true/false questions, one wrong answer and you were "down for the count," with BB alum Jessie Godderz cameoing. Kamuela Kirk outlasted the field, the third straight Toolshed HOH.

Kamuela Kirk

America voted Rick Devens in, and he came out with the Diamond Power of Veto: good at any of the next six veto meetings, it saves any nominee and lets the holder name the replacement himself. He told only Dee.

Rick Devens · Dee Valladares

BB28's first all-women block. Lyric Medeiros was the pawn; the real plan, pitched by Drew Campbell, was to backdoor Jason De Puy.

Dee Valladares, Angela Murray, LaTrice Verrett and Taylor Brown formed the four-woman "Honor Society," while Kamu and Drew Campbell became a two-man deal called "The Handymen."

In a comp set in July 2051, players danced with a giant pickle partner and then paddled balls into a scoring zone. Lyric beat Mallory Aurichio in the final round; LaTrice, Kamu, Jason and Haley also played.

HOH Kamu turned Mallory Aurichio's dress-up tea party into a grilling of Jason De Puy over rumors he was gunning for the "Icons" (Dee, Devens and Angela). Kamu wouldn't name his sources, and it fizzled into silence.

Kamuela Kirk · Jason De Puy · Mallory Aurichio

That night Jason grabbed a kettle and marched the hallway banging it, hailing "Queen Kamu, queen of the tea party."

Lyric Medeiros came off the block via the veto for the second straight week, this time her own. Final nominees: Mallory Aurichio, LaTrice Verrett and Jason De Puy.

The nominees pulled VHS tapes from a teetering video-store tower. LaTrice Verrett's fell at two; Mallory Aurichio beat Jason De Puy eight tapes to seven.

Mallory Aurichio · Jason De Puy · LaTrice Verrett

Kamu's backdoor landed with no votes against LaTrice. Jason waved off Kamu's goodbye hug ("don't touch me") and handed out tea bags at the door. Julie told him he'd placed top three in every Time Capsule vote.

Jason De Puy · Kamuela Kirk · LaTrice Verrett

After the live show Haley won the Week 4 Head of Household: the Red Corner's fourth straight HOH (Dee, Devens, Kamu, Haley).

Haley Thogmartin

America voted Dee Valladares in, and she won the BB Bribe: $5,000 she can offer any houseguest, once, in exchange for a move that helps her game.

Dee Valladares

Melody Morris and Taylor Brown were the expected chairs. Drew Campbell was the shock: sold a pawn pitch, he was really the Toolshed's target, with Angela Murray pushing hardest.

Haley Thogmartin · Drew Campbell · Melody Morris · Taylor Brown · Angela Murray

At a masquerade hosted by BB27's Morgan Pope, players drank from goblets where one pour was "poisoned"; drink poison twice and you were out. Chuk Anyanwu and Mallory Aurichio were drawn to play, and Taylor won.

The season's fourth straight veto save. Final nominees: Drew Campbell, Melody Morris and Lyric Medeiros.

Lyric was the cover: the Toolshed lined up the votes to cut Drew Campbell while keeping him in the dark. Lyric spent the night crying with Chuk.

Drew Campbell · Lyric Medeiros · Chuk Anyanwu

Drew, the majority's real target, solved a two-layer dinosaur puzzle first and pulled himself off the block.

Drew Campbell · Melody Morris · Lyric Medeiros

With Drew safe the votes pointed at Melody, until Dee, Devens and Angela flipped the house onto Lyric hours before the show. Only Kamu, Yash and Chuk voted to keep her.

Lyric Medeiros · Melody Morris · Dee Valladares · Rick Devens · Angela Murray

Lyric told Julie she was "not surprised" and "grateful," correctly named Kamu, Yash and Chuk as her votes, and said she wants to pursue things with Rome outside the house.

Lyric Medeiros · Rome Seymour

Clinging to a tilting wall while doused in water and slime, LaTrice outlasted Kamu after about 90 minutes. The oldest houseguest in the cast, she became the oldest ever to win the Wall on a regular season, and the first HOH from outside the Red Corner.

LaTrice Verrett · Kamuela Kirk

Mallory Aurichio lost her BB Time Capsule challenge and drew BB16's "Adam & Eve" punishment: chained for 48 hours to a houseguest of her choice, Melody Morris.

Mallory Aurichio · Melody Morris

LaTrice planned to backdoor Haley, but Yash talked up Chuk as the bigger threat and Kamu turned on his Red Corner allies. Haley and Chuk were the first Red Corner members nominated all season, with Barrett the pawn.

In "Saturday Night Veto," players crossed a light-up dance floor on remembered green tiles; a red tile sent you back to the start. Kamu beat Barrett Pfeiffer in the final round.

Kamu left Haley, Chuk and Barrett on the block, telling the Diary Room he needed to distance himself from the Red Corner and "move differently."

Dee Valladares revealed her secret BB Bribe to Kamu, after already telling Devens. Angela Murray admitted to the Red Corner she had lied about her Lyric vote, then broke down in tears.

Dee Valladares · Kamuela Kirk · Rick Devens · Angela Murray

LaTrice's target all week, Haley won "Newton's Apples" and pulled herself off the block.

Haley Thogmartin · Chuk Anyanwu · Barrett Pfeiffer

Haley cast the only vote to keep him. Chuk refused to hug LaTrice on his way out, payback for her declining his handshake before the comp, and told Julie "LaLa is legitimately confused about this game."

Chuk Anyanwu · Haley Thogmartin · LaTrice Verrett

Yash beat Barrett Pfeiffer in the final round for his first Head of Household. His only earlier win was the Week 1 Block Buster.

Yash Patel · Barrett Pfeiffer

Dee Valladares offered Yash her $5,000 to leave her off the block. He refused.

Dee Valladares · Yash Patel

The season's second all-women block, and a Week 1 debt settled: Dee put Yash up during her HOH, so Yash put Dee up during his.

Yash Patel · Angela Murray · Dee Valladares · Haley Thogmartin

Melody Morris lost her Time Capsule challenge and drew BB23's latrine punishment: bathroom attendant, unlocking the door every time someone needed it.

OTEV returned as a 1950s B-movie Blob. Yash beat Barrett Pfeiffer in the fourth round for two comp wins in one week.

Yash Patel · Barrett Pfeiffer · Angela Murray · Dee Valladares · Haley Thogmartin · Melody Morris

Yash left his own veto unused. Then Rick Devens, after agonizing in the hammock ("you can't play these games scared"), used the Diamond Power of Veto on Dee Valladares and named Kamuela Kirk himself.

Ten red and ten yellow balls whipped around a wind tunnel. While the others chased them through the air, Angela worked from the floor and buzzed in first.

The Mosh Pit, a seven-person alliance formed that week, voted as a bloc. LaTrice Verrett cast the only vote to keep him.

Paul Abrahamian hosted a timed obstacle course with seven buttons to hit. Drew Campbell set the time to beat until Dee ran it down, after Barrett Pfeiffer and Mallory Aurichio threw it. Her second HOH, the first houseguest with two.

Dee re-offered the BB Bribe, with the block as the alternative. Yash took it, promising to leave the Icons off the block in his next HOH.

At a Mosh Pit meeting Yash pinned the plotting on Drew Campbell and Barrett Pfeiffer, then admitted to the cameras he was lying.

Yash Patel · Drew Campbell · Dee Valladares · Barrett Pfeiffer

America voted Drew Campbell into the Time Capsule, and he won BB15's Never-Not Pass: permanent immunity from being a Have-Not, and nothing else.

Drew Campbell

Dee called all three "sus." Drew was the shock: a week into the Mosh Pit with her, he was up because his allies believed his information ran in every direction.

Dee Valladares · LaTrice Verrett · Drew Campbell · Taylor Brown

At the ceremony Taylor Brown and LaLa accused Drew of lying and demanded to know when Taylor had targeted the Icons. Drew, calling himself the biggest liar in the house, conceded she never actually named anyone.

Taylor Brown · Drew Campbell · LaTrice Verrett · Dee Valladares

LaTrice 'LaLa' Verrett, frozen out of the vote talks, broke down more than once and said every group she joins gets dismantled. Yash Patel called Drew "spineless" for taking orders from "daddy" Devens.

An eighties fitness comp scored on reps, lowest count out each round. Angela Murray and Barrett Pfeiffer were drawn; Angela and Drew went out first, then Dee, and LaLa was the last one moving.

Still stinging from the Kamu vote and the nomination-ceremony fight, LaLa went to Angela Murray and patched things up.

LaLa used the veto on herself, and Dee named Mallory Aurichio, as Devens had pushed. That put two Mosh Pit members, Drew Campbell and Mallory, on the block beside Taylor Brown.

CBS marked it with a "BB Time Machine" retrospective, alumni in the audience and two Guinness World Records titles: most episodes of a primetime TV show and of a competitive reality show. Fan awards went to Dan Gheesling (Favorite Winner), Janelle Pierzina (Best to Never Win), "Floaters, grab a life vest!" (Favorite Iconic Quote) and The Cookout (Best Alliance).

The nominees matched clues to clips from past seasons in boxes marked A, B and C. Drew won and left Mallory and Taylor to face the vote.

When the target moved from Drew to Mallory, Barrett Pfeiffer told the Icons directly he would not be a vote against her.

Barrett Pfeiffer · Dee Valladares · Rick Devens · Mallory Aurichio

Angela, Drew, Yash, Haley, Devens and LaLa voted her out; Melody and Barrett voted against Taylor. Mallory named her two votes correctly and admitted she'd thrown the Week 7 HOH: she "slowed down a little" because she got nervous.

"There will be no Head of Household, no veto competition, no Block Buster, but when all is said and done, someone's game will come to an end." The ten left were sent to the year 1000, with Keanu Soto, Britney Haynes, Tiffany Mitchell and Cody Calafiore in costume. The feeds went dark until Saturday.

Britney Haynes explained it: four contests, each winner safe and handing out Stones of Safety and Stones of Sacrifice, until the last contest decided who went home a pre-juror. Britney, Cody, Tiffany and Keanu each hosted one.

Dee Valladares took her own safety, gave the spare Stone of Safety to Rick Devens, and sent Drew Campbell and Haley Thogmartin to fight next.

Dee Valladares · Rick Devens · Drew Campbell · Haley Thogmartin

Drew won Cody's cart-and-crops puzzle, said out loud he'd considered saving Melody Morris, gave his Stone of Safety to Angela Murray instead, and sent Barrett Pfeiffer in against Haley.

Barrett beat Haley in Tiffany's grape run across a balance beam, earning two Stones of Safety and two of Sacrifice. He sacrificed Yash Patel and LaTrice Verrett.

Barrett Pfeiffer · Haley Thogmartin · Yash Patel · LaTrice Verrett

The final winner chose who went home, with no vote: Yash picked Haley Thogmartin over LaTrice. She is BB28's last pre-juror; the nine left reached the jury phase, where seven would make up the jury.

Still angry about Mallory's eviction, Melody Morris told Drew Campbell it felt like her heart had been ripped out of her chest. Drew admitted being close to him may be terrible for her game.

Players rolled coloured balls down a rippled lane into matching rows, and Barrett was the first to land all seven, winning his first HOH.

Barrett Pfeiffer

Barrett put Dee Valladares, Rick Devens and Angela Murray on the block, calling them the three biggest threats with a built-in bond. Dee told him he was the one person she would not have turned on.

Devens told the house Dee's Bribe covered all three Icons in Yash Patel's next HOH, not just Dee. Yash denied it, then conceded.

That night's 'Big Brother: Unlocked' (episode 29) had Taylor Hale and Derrick Levasseur, joined by Jay Mohr and Zingbot, on Barrett's failed push to evict Devens and LaLa becoming the first juror.

LaTrice Verrett · Barrett Pfeiffer · Rick Devens

Barrett picked Yash for the veto and Angela picked Taylor, passing over Drew, who had been promised a spot; he and Melody sat out. Players memorized the order of superhero comic covers and rebuilt it from a pile seeded with fakes, and Yash finished 26 seconds ahead of Devens for his third veto.

Yash Patel · Rick Devens · Dee Valladares · Taylor Brown · Barrett Pfeiffer · Angela Murray · Drew Campbell

All three nominees pitched him and all three failed. Dee told Barrett he'd "go from 6'6 to 5'2." Yash kept the Icons on the block, believing Taylor would be the replacement.

The three Icons raced an eight-piece puzzle. Devens finished first and saved himself for the second week running.

In Tombstone, 1881, players caught cactus spray in a cowboy hat to fill their horse's trough until an apple floated up. Yash posted the fastest time. Drew, never close, decided he at least "looks cool as hell."

With the Icons off-limits under the Bribe, every remaining F.A.P. member went up. Yash named Drew the target, "repaying the favor."

Yash and Taylor told Barrett and Melody the Bribe covered only Dee, and Yash claimed a handshake deal with Devens to explain why Devens stayed off the block.

The comp ran overnight. Dee dropped first, then Melody, Devens and Barrett, leaving Yash against Drew, and Yash stepped off as part of a deal. At 13:06:21 it was the third-longest endurance comp in Big Brother history, about 47 minutes short of Jennifer Vasquez's 13:53 from BB6.

The deal: Drew would not nominate Yash next HOH and would vote to keep Taylor Brown. Yash only believed him once Drew swore on his sister Natalie's life.

A full week played inside the hour: Melody won HOH and nominated Dee and Devens, Devens won the veto and saved himself, and Yash was the replacement. Drew and Devens voted Yash out; Taylor voted against Dee. Yash became the fourth juror.

After the live show BB27 runner-up Vince Panaro arrived from Egypt in 1922 with a Pharaoh's treasure. Alone in separate rooms with one button each, the final five could all take $1,000 if nobody pressed, or the first to press took $10,000. Devens pressed, for his family. Only then did the curse land: an extra eviction within three days, with only the HOH and veto winner safe.

Rick Devens

Using Pyramid Pinchers, the four eligible players rebuilt miniature sarcophagi to match the originals; outgoing HOH Melody sat out. It ran just over four hours before Devens won.

Melody was the target, but beside anyone else Drew would win the veto and save her. Nominating both meant a Drew veto could rescue only one of them.

All five played, dragging a Pharaoh's remains back to his sarcophagus through booby-trapped ropes; every trip wire was a strike. Drew finished on 15, the fewest.

Drew's second self-save in three weeks left Melody alone on the block, and Devens named Taylor Brown as the replacement.

Melody hugged Drew and told him to win it all. He held it together through the vote, then cried once she was gone.

That left Devens off the block, safe unless the veto was used, in which case he was the only possible replacement.

Melody filled the jury in, and it became a fight over who'd played the better game, with Angela Murray screaming at her and LaTrice Verrett joining in. It aired in episode 40.

Players matched images to dates against the clock; slowest each round took a strike, three strikes and out. Dee went first, then Devens, and Drew, never the slowest, beat Taylor in round nine.

At the live ceremony Drew vetoed himself, and Taylor had to name Devens beside Dee.

That night the final three held kites on a spinning log through fake rain and shocks. Drew fell first, Devens after nearly an hour, and Taylor won Part 1. Episode 40 aired the start; the result aired on the finale.

Each round gave a Shakespeare-style playbill clue, and players slingshot the cutouts of evicted houseguests who didn't fit it. Drew won round one; Devens took the next three.

Live on the finale, Devens and Taylor spotted the lie in juror video statements. Devens went perfect and won 5–3, so the last question was never asked.
