Barrett Pfeiffer drew first as HOH, having promised a Houseguest's Choice slot to both Yash Patel and Drew Campbell, and picked Yash. Angela Murray drew next, weighed Drew against Taylor Brown, and chose Taylor because she thought Taylor would be easier to beat. Melody Morris hosted, leaving Drew the only houseguest shut out of the competition.

BB Comic Con drew every houseguest as a superhero on their own comic cover. One at a time, players climbed a ladder and zip-lined past a window to memorise the order of the covers, then rebuilt that order from a pile seeded with near-identical "bootleg variant" fakes. Yash finished in 13:46, twenty-six seconds ahead of Rick Devens (14:12), with Dee Valladares third (17:09). Taylor Brown got her own comic wrong on her first attempt.

All three nominees pitched him and all three failed. Angela congratulated him and then warned Barrett she had won the BB Block Buster once and would do it again; Dee told Barrett he would "go from 6'6 to 5'2" and shrink like a snail with salt on it; Devens promised to target Barrett if he survived. Yash left the veto unused, keeping Dee, Devens and Angela on the block — he believed Taylor would have been the replacement nominee.

Barrett, Drew, Melody, Taylor and Yash agreed not to target one another until the three returnees were gone. In the same episode Devens pressed Barrett on the alliance that had carried them both — "It's four for four for Crossover members. What happened?" — and got four words back: "Social came in, man." Drew, still furious about the veto draw, outed the plan to backdoor Yash and named Yash as his target.

Houseguests rolled coloured balls down a rippled rainbow lane and had to land each one in its matching row; a ball in the wrong row meant starting that colour over. Dee Valladares reached six balls first but kept having to reset, and Barrett caught her and closed it out for his first Head of Household of the season.

Barrett put Dee Valladares, Rick Devens and Angela Murray on the block in one ceremony, calling them the three biggest threats with a built-in bond — the first time the three returnees had ever sat in the chairs at the same time. Devens had warned him he was burning the alliance that kept him safe all season; Angela said she never thought Barrett would be the first to turn, and Dee told him he was the one person she would not have turned on.

With nothing left to protect, Devens called a house meeting and revealed that Dee's $5,000 BB Bribe had bought safety for all three Icons, not just Dee — meaning Yash Patel could not nominate any of them with his next HOH. Yash denied it before conceding the deal, and the night ended with Angela Murray arguing with him about it.

Devens stacked his fourth first and took himself off the block, days after volunteering for it as Drew Campbell's pawn in a backdoor plan Drew then refused to run.

Devens had volunteered for the block openly, betting that Drew would spend the slot backdooring Yash Patel. Drew waffled, took the pawn and refused the plan, so Devens goes to the first jury vote of BB28 having bought nothing with it — and began second-guessing it almost immediately. Julie Chen Moonves opened the medieval week by deleting every safety mechanism the game has: "There will be no Head of Household, no veto competition, no Block Buster but when all is said and done, someone's game will come to an end." Britney Haynes explained the format — a bracket of contests in which each winner takes their own safety and hands out Stones of Safety and Stones of Sacrifice, with the winners banked into the jury and whoever is left in the arena going home a pre-juror. Britney, Cody Calafiore, Tiffany Mitchell and Keanu Soto each hosted a round. ⚠️ DAY NUMBER IS APPROXIMATE: the whole twist was taped during a three-day live-feed blackout (feeds down after the Aug 27 eviction, back Saturday night Aug 29), so no logger recorded the individual rounds. RHAP's Aug 30 feed update recaps "day 54" and reports the elimination, Drew's HOH, the nomination ceremony AND the veto competition as already done, so the whole compressed week sits on or before Day 54 — but no source day-stamps the individual events inside it. Britney Haynes put all ten houseguests on a ring of candles that had to go up and stay upright. Dee Valladares won it, took her own Stone of Safety, and handed the only spare to Rick Devens — putting both of them into the jury inside the first round. She then chose the next pair to fight: Drew Campbell and Haley Thogmartin.

Cody Calafiore's round put Drew Campbell against Haley Thogmartin on a build using carts and oversized puzzle blocks. He then threw his Stone of Sacrifice at Barrett Pfeiffer, sending Barrett into the arena against Haley.

Tiffany Mitchell hosted a grape delivery run across a balance beam to a wine press. Barrett Pfeiffer beat Haley Thogmartin — her second loss of the night and the only houseguest defeated twice — and walked away with his own safety plus two Stones of Safety and two Stones of Sacrifice still to distribute. The broadcast ended before he handed out a single one.

Barrett Pfeiffer spent his four stones almost immediately, sending Yash Patel into the arena alongside Haley Thogmartin and LaTrice Verrett. Keanu Soto, hosting as king, set the last three survivors to building him a crown. Yash won it — and the winner of the final round did not merely save himself, he decided who did not survive at all. Yash eliminated Haley Thogmartin. There was no vote, no couch and no goodbye: the others climbed back into 2026 in costume while Haley was left crying on the arena floor. She is BB28's last pre-juror, and the nine houseguests still standing are all jurors.

Zingbot narrated a two-part video and the house answered trivia on it, coming down to a three-way tiebreaker between Drew Campbell, Yash Patel and Melody Morris: count the minutes between two competition timestamps. Drew was closest. It is his first HOH of the season, nine days after he was a guaranteed boot and days after he won a Block Buster to save himself. Yash says he threw it deliberately rather than put his name on the first eviction of the jury phase.

Drew's first nomination ceremony put LaTrice Verrett, Taylor Brown and Yash Patel on the block — keeping every Crossover safe, keeping Melody Morris safe, declining Rick Devens's standing offer to go up as a pawn, and touching no member of the Icons. Dee Valladares read it as a Crossover protecting Crossovers and said so.

The veto sent the house to 1849 to carry twenty-five gold nuggets across a balance beam, with any fall resetting the pile to nothing. Yash Patel went slowly and did not fall. "It's him versus him at this point," he said of the comp.

Melody Morris had still not forgiven Drew Campbell for voting Mallory Aurichio out, and told him it felt as though her heart had been ripped out of her chest. She questioned whether he could be trusted and stayed angry through the whole medieval hour — which is the stretch in which Drew was openly weighing giving her a Stone of Safety and gave it to Angela Murray instead. In the diary room Drew acknowledged that being close to him may be terrible for her game.

CBS marked the milestone with a "BB Time Machine" retrospective across all 28 seasons and two Guinness World Records, in front of a studio audience of former houseguests. Fan-voted awards went to Dan Gheesling (Favorite Winner), Janelle Pierzina (best to never win, and comp beast), "Floaters, you better grab a life vest!" (Favorite Quote) and The Cookout (Favorite Alliance).

A trivia comp built for the milestone: the three nominees were shown a wall of clips from past Big Brother seasons and had to match three thirty-second clues to boxes marked A, B and C. Drew Campbell ran back and answered "C" correctly on the second clue; Mallory Aurichio did not. Drew took himself off the block, leaving Mallory and Taylor Brown to face the vote.

Dee Valladares and Rick Devens broke the news to Drew Campbell and Barrett Pfeiffer that the week's target had moved from Drew to Mallory Aurichio. Barrett did not take it well and told the Icons directly that he would not be a vote to send her home. He and Melody Morris were the only two who weren't.

Angela Murray, Drew Campbell, Yash Patel, Haley Thogmartin, Rick Devens and LaTrice "LaLa" Verrett voted to evict Mallory Aurichio; Melody Morris and Barrett Pfeiffer voted to evict Taylor Brown. HOH Dee Valladares did not vote. Drew, who had been on the block beside Mallory that morning, was one of the six. In her exit interview Mallory correctly named Barrett and Melody as her two votes and admitted she had thrown the Week 6 HOH — she "got nervous at the end", "slowed down a little", and should have tried harder. The former houseguests in the audience gave her a standing ovation.

Julie Chen Moonves told the remaining ten houseguests they would be sent to medieval times — the year 1000 — for a week with none of the game's usual competitions, but that someone's game would still end before the next live eviction. A preview showed four alumni in medieval costume: Keanu Soto, Britney Haynes, Tiffany Mitchell and Cody Calafiore. The live feeds were taken down for three days immediately afterwards.

The argument Sunday's episode cut away from finally played out. Taylor Brown demanded chapter and verse on when and how she had supposedly targeted the Icons. LaTrice "LaLa" Verrett said Taylor had never used any names; Taylor said she had been in the shower while the plan was made; Yash Patel placed Drew Campbell in the room for most of it. Drew finally conceded that most of what was reported was true but that Taylor never actually named anyone — undercutting the case that put her on the block. Dee Valladares adjourned the meeting with nobody cleared and nobody convicted.

In the diary room Taylor Brown gave up the alibi that had carried her through the whole fight: being in the shower when the plan against the Icons was made was a deliberate choice. Blindsided on Kamuela Kirk a week earlier and then blamed for a sentence she had not said, LaTrice "LaLa" Verrett went to Angela Murray in tears about being thrown under the bus. Angela listened, ran her own numbers, and came out of the conversation having decided that keeping LaLa served Angela's game.

An eighties fitness comp — an aerobics set and a booty-scoot workout, scored on reps, with the lowest count each round eliminated. Six played: HOH Dee Valladares, nominees Drew Campbell, LaTrice "LaLa" Verrett and Taylor Brown, plus Angela Murray and Barrett Pfeiffer drawn at random. Angela and Drew went out together, then Dee, then Barrett, then Taylor. The last one still moving was LaLa, at 57 the oldest houseguest in the house by 28 years.

It left Drew Campbell, Taylor Brown and Mallory on the block, and put two of the Mosh Pit's seven members up at the same time.

Melody Morris watched the seven-person bloc she had only just joined start nominating its own members and did her screaming in private, face in a pillow. With Drew Campbell and Mallory Aurichio on the block, the four ex-F.A.P. members who had outnumbered the three Icons inside the Mosh Pit were down to two voters — Melody and Barrett Pfeiffer — against Rick Devens and Angela Murray, with Dee Valladares holding the tiebreak.

A Time-Trip jump to 851 AD: a Viking training course run against the clock, six buttons to hit, fastest lap wins, with Big Brother 18 and 19 alum Paul Abrahamian presiding. Drew Campbell posted the time to beat and it stood until Dee ran it down. Rick Devens and Barrett Pfeiffer lasted longest chasing it, while Melody Morris and Mallory Aurichio barely tried, happy to keep the blood off their hands. Outgoing HOH Yash Patel was ineligible. It was Dee's second HOH of the season after her Week 1 win.

Yash Patel turned the BB Bribe down during Week 6 and spent this week regretting it. Dee Valladares offered it again — $5,000 if he keeps the Icons safe for the whole of his next HOH reign, with the block as the alternative if he refused. Yash negotiated it down to a non-binding verbal promise that the Icons would not target him, the bloc committed, and he took the money. The deal is why Yash came off Dee's nomination list and someone else went on it.

Dee called a Mosh Pit meeting to get the story of Yash's HOH straight, then brought Yash into the room to air it out. Yash put all of it on Drew Campbell and Barrett Pfeiffer — and admitted to the cameras afterwards that he was straight up lying. Drew, who had genuinely been feeding information in both directions, could not work out what he was allowed to say and came off worse. It handed Dee the confirmation bias she needed.

The weekly viewer vote sent Drew Campbell into the Time Capsule and he cleared the challenge, earning the Never-Not Pass — permanent immunity from ever being a Have-Not again. He carried it straight upstairs and tried to trade it for trust, telling Dee that "America has consistently all voted for their side." Dee wasn't buying it: she doesn't care what America thinks.

Drew's name was the shock: seven weeks into the Mosh Pit with her, he was on the block because his own allies had decided his information flowed in every direction at once.

Taylor Brown finally called Drew out in front of the whole house over playing both sides, demanding chapter and verse on when he claimed she had targeted Dee — and he had no clean answer. LaTrice "LaLa" Verrett broke down in tears more than once, frozen out of the vote conversations and openly ready to go home; every group she joins, she said, gets dismantled. Taylor talked her back, then bristled when LaLa began pressing Angela Murray about the blindside. Yash Patel, still nursing the HOH the Diamond took from him, called Drew "spineless" for taking orders from "daddy" Devens and told him the great men of history would not be impressed.

Red and yellow balls whipping through a wind tunnel, ten of each to be sorted into matching tubes. While Kamu and Haley chased balls through the air, Angela worked the floor — the "Tucker Method," lifted from BB26 — and buzzed in first for the upset that pulled her off the block.

Kamu did not go quietly: he told Mallory Aurichio about Dee's secret BB Bribe, torching his old partner's best-kept advantage in a last-ditch attempt to swing numbers that were never coming. Yash muddied it further, telling Mallory and Melody Morris that Dee had asked him to nominate them — a lie with a shelf life. The Mosh Pit voted as a bloc and sent him out 8-1, with LaTrice Verrett casting the lone vote to keep him, the only member of the week-old Covenant who actually honored it. "It is what it is; it's a good move," Kamu told the house on his way out.

OTEV returned for its twentieth anniversary as a belligerent 1950s B-movie Blob, demanding headshots out of a slime-slicked scavenger hunt. Yash outlasted Barrett Pfeiffer in the final round after the Blob had chewed through Angela, Dee, Haley and Melody — two comps in one week for the quietest man in the house.

Yash declined to use his own veto, leaving the all-women block intact and trusting the house to take his target out. Rick Devens had other plans: he had been carrying the Diamond Power of Veto since Week 3, telling almost nobody and wavering on it all weekend from a hammock — "you can't play these games scared." At the ceremony he took Dee Valladares off the block and, with no HOH input at all, named Kamuela Kirk in her place, calling him "the biggest threat in the game."

Haley burst into tears as his photo faded to black-and-white.

Sent back to "August 13, 1977" for a dance-floor memory challenge — cross the floor on green tiles only, a red tile sends you back to the start — the six players ran a bracket: Kamu beat Chuk, Haley beat LaTrice and Barrett edged Dee in Round 1, Barrett knocked out Haley in Round 2, and Kamu took the final over Barrett. It was Kamu's second memory-comp win of the season.

LaTrice, unimpressed with Haley, made her target plain: get Haley out.

In a candlelit Victorian masquerade hosted by BB27's Morgan Pope, the six players sipped from goblets where one pour was "poisoned" — two bad guesses and you were out. Taylor Brown read the table best and took the Power of Veto, the fourth veto save of the season. Mallory Aurichio (Melody's houseguest's-choice pick) and Chuk Anyanwu (Haley's pick) rounded out the field alongside HOH Haley and nominees Drew and Melody.
