The Story
Eddie was cast on the very first American Big Brother in summer 2000 — a slower, European-style social experiment where the public, not the houseguests, decided who went home.
A blunt, funny 21-year-old from Commack, New York who'd lost his left leg to bone cancer at age 11, Eddie won America over with equal parts charm and grit across 88 days.
Viewers crowned him the first-ever U.S. Big Brother champion with 59% of the final phone vote, beating Josh Souza and Curtis Kin. He remains the only amputee to compete on the U.S. series.
