Kissed and Dismissed

Week 2 came down to a live Block Buster, and Jason De Puy — the self-styled "cursed" houseguest — picked the worst possible night to get lucky, solving the "Pirate's Booty" gemstone-stacking race to rip himself off the block. That left Melody Morris and Rome Seymour, and the Toolshed's plan never flinched: Rome went home 12–1, with Taylor Brown casting the house's only vote to keep him. Then the twist of the knife. Before the results, Rome laid it all on the line — "I don't care who knows it now, but Lyric Medeiros, I am in love with you" — and kissed her goodbye on his way out. Only on the exit couch did Julie reveal that his showmance had voted him out, and that his lone supporter was Taylor, not Lyric. Rome took it with grace, saying he was "honored" that a legend like Devens thought he had to get him out, that "Devens didn't lie, so no hard feelings," and delivering the season's most quotable surrender: "Lyric batted her eyes twice and I was a puddle." As the door closed, Lyric was already in Angela and Devens' ears doing damage control — while Drew, safe in the Toolshed, was quietly telling anyone who'd listen he wants the next HOH to blow the whole alliance up. Devens' reign ends here; 15 houseguests remain, and the Week-3 HOH is up for grabs Sunday.
