For the first time all season, the Power of Veto came down off the wall and went right back up unchanged. Kamu Kirk won the Week 5 veto — a Time-Trip “August 13, 1977” dance-floor memory comp, his second memory win of the year — outlasting Barrett in the final after Barrett had knocked out both Dee and Haley to get there. And then he did the one thing his Red Corner allies never saw coming: nothing.
Haley and Chuk spent days certain their closest ally would pull one of them down. Instead Kamu left all three nominees on the block, handing them a cover story — “I’m afraid if I use it someone like Devens could go up” — while telling the Diary Room the truth: he’s done with the Red Corner and the house needs to see him “move differently.” The alliance that ran the first four weeks is officially a memory; only Kamu’s escape from it survived.
The other shoe was Dee. To cement her new partner, she finally flashed her secret BB Bribe — the power Devens had already pried out of her earlier in the week — and Kamu bought the loyalty play whole. Meanwhile Haley’s world caved in: Angela cracked, confessed she’d voted the “wrong way” on Lyric with no real reason, and spiraled into a tearful meltdown that LaTrice had to walk her out of. LaTrice, unimpressed, turned on Haley too — “sad that a pretty girl is so mean and passive-aggressive” — and made her prayer plain: get Haley out. The block is locked, the target is set, and only the Block Buster stands between Haley and the door.
