No eviction tonight — this was veto night, and it belonged to a power that had been sitting in a drawer for three weeks.
It started as Yash Patel's week. The quietest man in the house had finally won something, taking "Bugs In the System" for the Week 6 HOH, and he followed it up by winning the veto too — OTEV, back for its twentieth anniversary, this time as a belligerent 1950s B-movie Blob demanding headshots out of a slime-slicked scavenger hunt. Yash outlasted Barrett Pfeiffer in the final round after the Blob had chewed through Angela, Dee, Haley and Melody. Two comps, one week, and a nomination board exactly where he wanted it.
Then he chose to do nothing with it. Yash left Angela Murray, Dee Valladares and Haley Thogmartin — BB28's first all-women block — sitting right where he'd put them, confident the house would take his target out for him.
Rick Devens had other plans. He had been carrying the Diamond Power of Veto since Week 3, telling almost nobody, wavering on it all weekend from a hammock — "you can't play these games scared" — and at the ceremony he finally pulled the trigger. He took Dee off the block and, with no HOH input at all, named Kamu Kirk in her place, calling him "the biggest threat in the game." Yash's HOH detonated in a single sentence: the man he'd guaranteed safety on day one of his reign was suddenly sitting in the third chair, and the HOH could not do a thing about it.
The block is now Angela, Haley and Kamu, with the Block Buster still to come. And the house Kamu has to beg is not the house he helped build — it's The Mosh Pit, the seven-person merger of The Crossovers and For the American People that formed in the backyard on Sunday night and now owns the vote outright. Outside it, LaTrice Verrett had just finished naming her own four — The Covenant, with Kamu, Yash and Taylor — which is now a week old and already one member short of safe.
